An AI consulting company that builds what it recommends
The consult is step one of the build, not a report you file.
AI consulting companies and AI consulting firms are hired to say where AI fits in a business. Most hand back a strategy deck and leave the build to someone else. Akira's consult is the first step of the build: we map where your team's week goes, rank the jobs AI can take, decide what stays human, and then build the system ourselves, with every AI decision on a feedback loop and a person approving anything a customer sees. You keep the plan whether or not you build with us.
The consult maps the work and sets the rules. The build runs it, you approve what customers see, and the loop keeps it honest.
How it works
- 1Map where the week goes
- 2Rank the jobs AI can take
- 3Decide what stays human
- 4Scope and quote the build
- 5Build it, then keep it sharp
What you get
- A map of where your team's hours actually go, from your own numbers
- A ranked shortlist: what to automate first, what to assist, what to leave to a person
- The rules for every job on the list: what the AI may decide alone and what waits for approval
- A plain statement of what the data needs before anything is built
- A scoped build with a fixed quote, if a build is the right next step
- A plan you own either way, with no obligation to build it with us
If you are comparing AI consulting companies, you have probably noticed that most of them are not builders. They audit, they recommend, they present. Then you are left holding a document and looking for a second company to make it real. We think that split is where AI projects die, so we closed it. The consult below is what every Akira engagement starts with, and it ends in a scoped build or an honest answer that you do not need one yet.
What does an AI consulting company actually do?
A good one finds out where the hours go before saying a word about AI. We sit with you and follow the work: what comes in, who touches it, what gets typed twice, what waits on one person, what a customer is waiting on while that happens. Out of that comes a ranked list of jobs. For each one we say plainly whether AI can take it, only assist with it, or should not touch it, and why. That list, with the reasons, is the consult. Everything after it is a build decision you make with real information instead of a vendor's pitch.
How is Akira different from other AI consulting firms?
We build what we recommend, and the recommendation is written knowing we will have to make it work. That changes the advice. We do not suggest a job for automation unless we can see the data it needs and the tools it has to connect to, because we are the ones who will connect them. Two rules go into every build: anything the AI decides runs on a feedback loop, where the decision is recorded and checked against what actually happened, and anything a customer will see waits for a person to approve it. Our own marketing runs on a system built exactly this way, and we will show it to you running rather than describe it.
What should you ask before hiring an AI consulting firm?
Ask to see something they built, running for a real business, not a demo made for the pitch. Ask what the system is allowed to do without a person and what happens when it is wrong. Ask where your data lives and whether it leaves with you if you stop. Ask what the monthly cost after launch covers, and whether it includes keeping the system accurate as your business and the models change. Ask who you will actually work with. A firm that cannot answer those in plain words on the first call will not get clearer on the tenth.
What does the consult cost, and what does it lead to?
We do not publish a price, because every engagement is scoped to the business in front of us, and a number on a page would misrepresent the work. What we can tell you is what drives it: how many tools a system has to reach into, how clean and reachable your data is, and how much judgment the job involves, which decides how much checking has to be built around it. The consult produces that scope. If a build makes sense, you get a fixed quote for it and a monthly retainer afterward that covers managing the data and polishing the AI, with new features scoped and billed on their own. If a build does not make sense yet, we say so, and you keep the plan.
Which businesses is this for?
Any business with repeatable work that costs real hours: the same questions answered every day, inquiries that need sorting, quotes and follow ups written from scratch, data moved between tools by hand. Size matters less than that shape. We are based in Nashville and work with companies across the country; meeting in person is easy in Middle Tennessee, and everything else works the same anywhere.
What happens after the consult?
If we build, the first job goes live with its approval step and its feedback loop in place, and you watch it run before the next job is added. The retainer then keeps it honest month to month: the data it runs on is managed, its decisions are reviewed against outcomes, and the prompts and rules are tightened from what the loop finds. If we do not build, you have a ranked plan, the rules for each job, and a clear statement of what your data needs first. Either way the consult ends with something you can act on, not a deck.
What to expect
We reply within a day
No bots, no drip sequence. A real response to what you sent.
A quick scoping chat
We learn your goals and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
A plan + a clear quote
A recommendation and transparent pricing. No pressure, no lock-in.
How pricing works: a one-time build to set it up for your business, then a monthly retainer that manages the data and keeps improving the AI. New features are scoped separately. No long lock-in; we quote once we understand your scope, and we do not publish a price.
Frequently asked
- What do AI consulting companies do?
- They assess where AI fits in a business and recommend what to do about it. The difference between firms is whether the recommendation ends in a document or in a working system. Akira's consult is the first step of a build we carry out ourselves.
- How do I choose between AI consulting firms?
- Pick the one that can show you a real system running, tells you what the AI may not decide alone, keeps your data in your accounts, and explains the monthly cost after launch in plain words. Treat a firm that only presents as a firm that only presents.
- How much does AI consulting cost?
- We do not publish a price. The consult produces a scope, and the quote follows the scope: how many tools the system connects to, how clean the data is, and how much judgment the job involves. Market rates for consulting vary widely and are not a guide to a build.
- Do you only advise, or do you build?
- Both, in that order. The consult decides what is worth building; if something is, we build it and stay on a monthly retainer to manage the data and keep improving the AI.
- Is Akira an AI consulting firm or a software company?
- A software company whose work starts with a consult. We build custom AI systems for businesses; the consult exists so the system is built around how your business actually runs.
- Will the AI make decisions without a person?
- Only inside limits you agree to, with every decision recorded and checked against what happened. Anything a customer will see waits for a person to approve it.
- Do you work with businesses outside Nashville?
- Yes. We are based in Nashville and work with businesses across the country.
